The Water Process for decaffeinating coffee leverages caffeine solubility and osmosis. First, green coffee beans are soaked in hot water to dissolve the caffeine. They are washed in a solution derived from cane sugar, effectively removing 99.7% of the caffeine. This method ensures you can enjoy the rich flavors of coffee without the stimulating effects of caffeine.
