This premium beef tallow is firm but silky and is an everyday ingredient in many traditional cuisines. Fun fact: the word ‘schmaltz’ comes from Ashkenazi Jewish cuisine and means ‘to melt’. This tallow was schmaltzed from the suet of free-to-roam, 100% grass-fed cows and is ideal for deep frying due to its high smoke point of approx. 200 degrees.

The lower the smoke point of the oil, the easier it is for toxicity to occur. Thankfully, beef tallow has a high smoke point at around 200 degrees.
