Bio-Dynamic
500g

It’s no wonder this ancient wheat grain has been eaten for aeons. The ultimate substitute for rice and pasta, it has a delicious nutty flavour, contains less carbs, is low GI and is easier to digest.

The benefits.

  • Helps to build muscle (protein)
  • Promotes healthy digestion and gut health (fibre)
  • Supports a healthy immune system and aids in wound healing (zinc)

What goes in.

Biodynamic pearled farro.

What's kept out.

Pesticides, insecticides and fungicides.

Did you know?

Did you know your favourite grains could have more pesticide residues than other food? Sadly, some commercial growers treat their crops with high amounts of harmful chemicals that can cause everything from mild skin irritations to serious diseases. Always opt for organic grains; they’re not only free of nasties, but they bring impressive health benefits to the table, too.

Geography.

Grown in the Grampians, Victoria.

Hot tip.

Amp up salads, soups, casseroles, antipasti and even sweets, all with humble pearled farro.

Mount Zero

As one of the oldest olive groves in Australia, the Mount Zero olive grove has stood the test of time. Located at the base of the Grampians northernmost summit, it’s home to 6000 Spanish Manzanilla and Gordal olive trees. Mount Zero is a family-owned-and-operated business that’s committed to flavour and quality; their values are evident in every olive, every jar. Speaking of commitment, it only harvests using biodynamic farming; a natural, eco-friendly approach to farming that avoids synthetic intervention. The grove is self-sustaining — it feeds the trees directly from the soil humus rather than chemical inputs, and the energy supply is sourced from off-grid wind and solar generators.

Great protein source

Soaked overnight and then a quick boil, drain and finish off in the oven! Great roasted, to eat as a snack or add to salads. Or boil a little longer for chickpea soup! Great nutritional value.
