Australian Kalamata Olives

Rated 5.0 out of 5
Based on 4 reviews
Pitted
300g

These organic Kalamata olives are medium-large in size, firm in flesh, with a rich olive flavour. A classic table olive variety and are also fantastic in salads. Brine curing leaves these olives a dark burgundy colour and ensures the characteristic fruitiness of the Kalamata is preserved

Did you know?

Brine curing olives is a slow, traditional method of curing which ensures the natural flavour and colour of the olives to maintain without using chemicals. Only the best from Mount Zero.

Grown in the Grampians, Victoria.

Hot tip.

Fantastic table eating option and also for marinating and presenting with cornichons and caper berries.

Mount Zero

As one of the oldest olive groves in Australia, the Mount Zero olive grove has stood the test of time. Located at the base of the Grampians northernmost summit, it’s home to 6000 Spanish Manzanilla and Gordal olive trees. Mount Zero is a family-owned-and-operated business that’s committed to flavour and quality; their values are evident in every olive, every jar. Speaking of commitment, it only harvests using biodynamic farming; a natural, eco-friendly approach to farming that avoids synthetic intervention. The grove is self-sustaining — it feeds the trees directly from the soil humus rather than chemical inputs, and the energy supply is sourced from off-grid wind and solar generators.

Great protein source

Soaked overnight and then a quick boil, drain and finish off in the oven! Great roasted, to eat as a snack or add to salads. Or boil a little longer for chickpea soup! Great nutritional value.
